Help Educate Rohingya Refugee Children in Bangladesh

Donation protected
Hello! I am Abdul Noor, a Rohingya teacher living in the world's largest refugee camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

I am a genocide survivor who fled the Myanmar and sought shelter in Bangladesh in 2017. I graduated from Sittwe University in 2011.

Now, I live in the refugee camp where there is little hope for our stateless community, especially for Rohingya children who have little to no access to education.

After arriving in Bangladesh, I established a high school named Rohingya Children High School in 2018, envisioning a brighter future for our next generation. In this school, more than 800 Rohingya children including boys and girls are studying under the Myanmar curriculum, from primary school to high school. Most of these children either come from impoverished refugee families or are orphans.

Over twenty five qualified and dedicated teachers voluntarily teach these children, despite facing critical challenges on all sides.

We are dedicated to educating young women and girls alongside boys and men, who aspire to become medical professionals, engineers, teachers and pilots, just like their colleagues in other nations.

Their only hope is to receive proper education in the camp.

Any funds you may contribute to our school will be used for textbooks, notebooks, stationery and school equipment like whiteboards, chairs and tables. We are also in dire need of financial assistance to install battery and solar-run lights and fans to ensure that our students have a decent environment to study and learn in.

As of now, our students attend classes regularly in a classroom without electricity, lighting, fans or desks.

Your funds will be transferred to our school in Bangladesh from our friends in New York City, USA. We will regularly post updates to inform you about how your donation is helping our students.

Please consider contributing any funds you can for the development of our school. If you are unable to donate at this time, we would appreciate it equally if you could share the link to this fundraiser with your family, friends and colleagues.

Best wishes,

Abdul Noor
