Help Edward & David Rebuild After Hurricanes Helene & Milton

We are Edward Hoefert and David Ingram (married). We have lived in Nokomis, Florida on Dona Bay for 20 years since 2004. We’ve never flooded since 1954 at this house. We don’t have food insurance. We will use the money to rebuild our first floor which had all our appliances, hot water heater, washer & dryer, freezer. And other losses not covered. THANK YOU for considering to help us.❤️

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene made its presence felt at our home on Dona Bay in Nokomis, bringing with it a dramatic 26-inch storm surge. Within moments, we found ourselves trapped on the second floor, surrounded by the tremendous force of water.

The storm surge swiftly enveloped our entire first floor, and sadly, we lost nearly everything that the saltwater touched. Some of our cherished belongings were swept away. Other belongings were damaged beyond repair including our central air conditioner, hot water heater, washer and dryer, freezer, side-by-side refrigerator, two Honda generators, and all our power tools. Even our bathroom and pump house were not spared. We are left feeling exhausted, empty, despaired, but not without hope!

Regrettably, we do not have flood insurance or any coverage that could help us recover from this disaster. We’ve always prided ourselves on being self-sufficient and have never sought assistance from others before. We understand that many are facing their own challenges, but if you feel moved to help, we would be incredibly grateful for any support you can provide during this difficult time. Any monies raised will be used to first replace the air conditioning and hot water heater and other appliances.
