Syrian Refugee hoping to go to Paris 2024 Olympic

Eid is a Syrian refugee who has been living in the UK for 6 years. He arrived in the UK unable to speak English after a dangerous journey from war-torn Syria across Europe. Despite this, he has been unwavering in his determination to achieve his full potential and his recent successes are a testament to his hard work and perseverance.

In 2018, Eid found inspiration in a video of "Michael Phelps and decided to learn how to swim. Despite never having swum before, he trained for 4-5 hoursevery day and made impressive progress. Within a year of training, he won the London Adult Achievement Award from Swim England in 2019 and the Gold National Adult Achievement Award in 2020.

He is now setting his sights on competing for the Refugee Olympic team in Paris 2024. Eid is also a Storyteller for the UNHCR and Swim England and shares his story to inspire refugees and others around the world. Eid is currently training with both Camden Swimming Club and the King's Swimming Club team. Since joining these clubs, he has brought much positivity and enthusiasm with him. Eid is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of these teams as he has .never had this chance before. His determination and goals have inspired other swimmers, motivating them to continue swimming with passion and joy.
