Help Clifford Rose stay in the care home he loves
Hi, my name is Duncan and my father is the actor Clifford Rose. He was one of the founding members of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and achieved some fame in the BBC television series Secret Army and Kessler. You can read about his professional career on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com).
Clifford has also been an encouraging teacher and mentor to many up and coming actors over the years.
He has been battling illness (kidney disease stage 5; heart block and lately severe anxiety) since the death of my mother in 2012 and was finally taken to hospital five weeks ago after a number of falls and medical crises.
He bravely attempted to remain in his own home but, ultimately his frailty and illness got the better of him.
Through the help of an actors charity we have managed to find him a nursing home which he loves. However he is only funded for a month so we urgently need help to allow him to remain there. He does not have the means to otherwise do so.
Clifford has given so much enjoyment to so many people over the last sixty years and was a true pioneer of classical theatre in the UK. His career spans radio, television and film (including the Pirates of the Caribbean and The Iron Lady). He even had a brief dalliance with streaming media, having appeared in The Crown on Netflix.
If you have ever enjoyed my fathers work, or appreciate the value of veteran actors in our cultural life, please consider supporting him in his time of need.
Thank You.
