Help Handicapped Veteran Recover His Stolen Vehicle
Donation protected
My name is Lindsay and I am writing to you on behalf of my partners Dad.
Larry Shaw Sr. is a native Santa Monican and a disabled veteran. On Sunday July 21st at 2am someone stole his used vehicle from his carport along with his mobilzed scooter, and fishing poles.
Due to defunding, our local police lack the resources to actively investigate. He was left on hold with the police non-emergency line for several hours and had to be wheeled into the station to file a report days later. There was no active investigation leaving us without any hopes of a recovery.
As my partner's girlfriend of 23 years, it breaks my heart to see him lose his independence and enjoy activities like fishing, that brought him joy. Larry has worked his entire life, up until recently when he was told he needed to have both knees operated on. As luck would have it would have it the day he was scheduled for surgery, he slipped while getting into his car, and broke his hip. Since he is unemployed he is on a very fixed income, making it impossible for him to replace these items on his own.
We are turning to our connections and community for any support. We're aiming to raise as much as we can to buy a used car and a new scooter.
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference in his life. If you can't donate, please share our campaign to help spread the word.
Thank you for your support!
