Help 90 Year Old USMC Veteran Robert and His Wife Barbara

My name is Patrick and I own Vegas Elite Cleaners LLC. I just started a program where I clean the homes of elderly veterans in need for FREE. I had the pleasure of cleaning the home of Robert and Barbara Anderson for FREE. Robert was in the US Marine Corps in 1956-1958 as a Motor Transport Driver, and is now 90 years old. Barbara was a Corrections Officer for many years, and is now 77 years old. They have been together 25 years and married 24 years. At their age, also needing to use their walkers to get around everywhere, and with a few recent accidents, they have been having trouble maintaining their home as well as they want to. They can't even leave the house to go grocery shopping. I was also able to assist Barbara in recovering her Walmart.com account because it was locked for some reason. Now they can order their groceries online that is delivered to their doorstep, making that aspect easier on them.

Recently, Robert had a bad fall after falling off a curb 2.5 years ago and was in the hospital for 10 days. Not too long ago, he fell again after his walker fell out from under him and was admitted to the VA hospital for a few more days. He was suggested getting back surgery for his injuries, but at his age, he refused surgery since he knew it would be very difficult for him to recover from such a drastic surgery. Barbara also had a bad fall in her home and had 2 hip surgeries herself. With all that, their mobility is bare minimum.

With both of them on a fixed income, their bills are starting to go up due to inflation and rising utility bills and HOA monthly fees, they were even contemplating selling their home to try to be able to afford their monthly expenses. They now realize it is better for them to stay in their home since it is on a Reverse Mortgage and rents in Las Vegas are out of their price range. Robert does not get VA disability due to not having any service related injuries. He receives Social Security and a Pension from his prior job before retiring. Barbara only receives Social Security.

Both Robert and Barbara were such a pleasure to meet. As soon as I met them both, I felt at home and like I had been friends with them for years. They were so friendly and accommodating. I have definitely made "new family members" with them.
