My dear friend Elena in Liberty Hill, TX has been doing challenging, ongoing care for her elderly dog family:
- Maisie the pug, who recently had emergency surgery to remove an eye
- sweet little Truman who had an emergency surgery to successfully remove his teeny-tiny little spleen + a mass; he has since succumbed to the cancer they found
- Lexi the pug, aka Lexifer
Between emergency surgeries, lost wages due to vet visits, and caretaking, Elena is looking at bills above and beyond the day-to-day of household upkeep. As a non-commercial artist and independent therapist without paid time off, these emergencies are taking a financial toll that can't be borne alone.
That's where we come in! As a creative and spiritual worker in her communities, Elena's whole life revolves around the care of others—human and non-human. Now we have an opportunity to care for the caretaker!
