Help Elijah & Hayden learn in Spain!

Our names are Elijah and Hayden Davidson. We are 15 and 16 years old and attend Shelter Island High School. We have been given the opportunity to travel to Spain in the summer of 2022 with our Shelter Island High School Spanish teacher and our classmates.

 

This 10 day trip will be a trip of a lifetime. We will be living with host families where we will learn about culture and daily life and we will also attend school 4 days a week where we will be fully immersed in learning the language.

 

Not only will this be our first trip without our family, but it will also be our first time traveling outside of the country. We are very excited about this opportunity and we are very appreciative of all contributions made. We would love to share our experiences with you after the trip!

 

Part of our trip costs have been generously donated by the Shelter Island Education Foundation. We need to raise the remaining costs of the trip as well as our roundtrip airfare.

 

A little more about us...

 

Elijah- I am a junior in high school. I have worked the last 3 summers at the Islander and the Rams Head Inn. I am a year 5 Varsity golf player and this is my first year as a Varsity basketball player, however, I have played since grade school. I recently got my drivers permit and I am very excited to pass my road test. I am a member of the National Honor Society and also a member of the Shelter Island All Faith Youth Group. I would like to be a commercial pilot after college and I am currently exploring college choices.

 

Hayden- I am a sophomore in high school. Last summer I started my first job at the Islander. I play basketball for the Shelter Island High School for both Varsity and JV. I am currently teaching myself how to speak Russian and write in Japanese. I love visiting New York City. I enjoy learning how to play music, both on the piano and guitar. I am also a member of the Shelter Island All Faith Youth Group.
