Help Elijah's Family Rebuild Part of their Home

Hi, my name is elijah and I'm currently a student at Bennington College. I'd love to talk more about myself, but this fundraiser isn't about me. Recently there was heavy flooding in Leominster Massachusetts, where myself and my family currently live, and we were not so fortunate. The majority of our basement and garage area were overrun with water and destroyed, not to mention damages to our backyard and collapsing of fences. Luckily, no one in our family was physically hurt, but my grandmother lived in our basement at the time so all of her personal belongings, countless keepsakes she has accumulated and cherished throughout her life were destroyed and won't be salvaged or monetarily reimbursed. To add onto this, our house wasn't covered by flood insurance because of the cost, and we weren't necessarily in a "flood area" so all of the money for damages must come out of our own pocket. Lastly, my mother has worked so incredibly hard to even afford this home for me and my brother, she has sacrificed nearly all of her life for us, and the home was something she was truly proud of. The home was to show that this sacrifice was worth it, and that even against difficult odds she still could make a beautiful life out of nothing. To see part of it destroyed truly breaks my heart and simply isn't deserved. I remember many times when my mother metaphorically took food off her own plate to fill ours and she simply does not deserve this financial burden brought upon her by a natural disaster. All I ask is for any support available, so she doesn't have to deal with this alone. Thank you all for any support I promise it will not go unappreciated.
