Help Elisa finish her education
Donation protected
Elisa is in her junior year at Ursinus College. For several years reaching back to her high school years, Elisa has battled a wide range of mysterious medical symptoms without a diagnosis and yet has excelled academically despite these challenges. In the last two years, her symptoms have included approximately daily seizures. On Thursday, Nov. 16, however, she suffered seven seizures and was non-responsive. She was rushed to one hospital and later examined at another, with the result that she now has a definitive diagnosis, for which we are all truly grateful.
However, her condition, while enjoying a lot of research attention currently, is without a remedy at this time and may require months (or years) of specialist medical support in order to figure out how to stop (or at least reduce) the regular seizures.
One consequence of her condition is that Elisa will not be able to continue working in order to fund her tuition needs beyond what student loans cover, since her safety now requires the constant presence of a family member. To date, Elisa has not only been able to work to help cover her tuition but she has also been able to maintain full-time status at school and consistently achieve excellent grades. It would be a great encouragement to her if you could help cover some of the difference in her tuition through your support. Elisa has three semesters left to finish her degree. Her outstanding balance for this upcoming semester, after loans, is approximately $9K. Any funds received above that amount will be applied to her outstanding medical bills and/or to the following semester. Thank you for anything you can do to help, and especially for your prayers and encouragement!
