Help Support Elisa's Recovery

Dear Community,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share a recent and unexpected development in Elisa’s health and to humbly request your support during this difficult time.

Elisa was recently been diagnosed with Necrotizing Autoimmune Myopathy, which has required immediate and ongoing medical attention, including current hospitalization, medication, multiple medical appointments for treatment and consultation, plus ongoing rehabilitation. The sudden and rapid nature of this illness has not only impacted her physical well-being but has also been a source of significant emotional and unexpected financial strain.

Elisa is whole-heartedly engaging in Western medical treatments, but is also embracing necessary lifestyle shifts to address her entire ecosystem, with the addition of major dietary modifications, acupuncture, physical therapy, and other important forms of mind-body healing that have been shown to be essential in mitigating many autoimmune issues. She is incredibly determined to regain her strength.

Despite having some coverage, the out-of-pocket expenses for treatments, medication and supplements, equipment, and necessary modifications to her living space (standing, walking and climbing stairs is currently extremely difficult and exhausting for Elisa) have accumulated rapidly. Because the trajectory of her healing is hard to predict given the disease’s rarity, many of these expenses are likely to be ongoing for months at the minimum. As a result, Elisa is in need of financial assistance to help cover these essential costs.
