Help Elise get to the Stanley Cup Finals

*Update: For those of you that have being watching Elise has been sick & sadly we were not able to make game 1 as planned... but we have booked our flights & are going to be in Denver for the game 4 watch party & game 5 at Ball Arena. With the change in dates & short notice our budgeted costs are not quite sufficient. I have re-worked our dates, flights & hotels but am still going to be short on the purchase of tickets. With that I have had to increase our go fund me target. With your help, I hope we can find tickets to get this girl to her boys! *


Hi, my name is Christy; mom to a 12-year-old special needs daughter Elise, and we are asking for your help to get her back to Denver to cheer on her "Boys."

 

Two months ago Elise experienced her first NHL hockey game (she was hooked), but it wasn't her first time cheering for Alex Newhook... Alex & Elise met in Victoria, BC where he played for the BCHL Victoria Grizzlies. Alex & Elise bonded right away, and little did we know that bond would continue to grow over the years. Elise's love of hockey has blossomed as she has gotten older, but no hockey boy compares to her Alex. She has followed Alex from Victoria to Boston, every Colorado game.

 

Elise was born at only 2 lbs, at 26 weeks gestation, she has fought since her first breath. She was trached at 4 months old due to paralyzed vocal cords & spent her first 169 days in hospital. We have spent a large portion of her life in the ICU beds under 1:1 nursing care. Elise has spent her entire life fighting her own medical battles. Traveling to appts, therapies, tests, being airlifted on life support, trialing new medications & so much more, but her love of hockey has given her a sense of belonging, of team, support not found anywhere outside a rink. All her physical & mental restrictions don't matter there. They melt as she walks into those doors. She is confident & knows what's going on, who is where & who her favorite boys are.

 

 

Seeing her light up while cheering, high-fiving her boys or banging on the glass, this girl lives for hockey.

 

This playoff run has been out of this world. It has been surreal! With your help last month, we were able to bring Alex's lucky charm into Ball Arena for games 1 & 2 of round one; the joy this trip brought Elise is indescribable. So we are asking for your help to give her one more life-changing experience!

 

If you have followed our hockey journey, you know that I am a single mom on a small hobby farm in rural Saskatchewan, and these trips are so far out of my means. However, this trip, I have a better idea of the funds needed for this fundraiser, and I hope that you will help us give this once in a lifetime experience to my mini farmer & bring as much joy to Elise.

 

 

The funds raised will be used for airfare, hotel, transportation, meals, & daily expenses on our Denver trip mid-June 2022. Any funds not used will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation to help other children have life-altering experiences.
