Help Ellie fight Histiocytic sarcoma
Donation protected
On August 1, 2021, we noticed Ellie, an 8-year-old Golden Retriever, had a tumor on her right shoulder. The size was alarming, it was the size of a baseball. We immediately got her looked at by her vet who then referred us to a board-certified surgeon. Diagnosis took multiple consultations with two surgeons and two oncologist. Eventually she was diagnosed with Histiocytic sarcoma, an uncommon but aggressive cancer of dogs. This cancer is so rare that there is barely any information about it and most oncologist don’t know how to properly treat it. Histiocytic sarcoma tends to spread fast. Ellie has been visiting the vet almost weekly. She has 4 masses in her spleen and while surgery is recommended, they didn’t recommend it. The recommendation is now two kinds of chemotherapy, CCNU and Doxorubicin. With blood work, liver tests, Ct scans and ultra sounds being performed regularly. She has an upcoming appointment next week where she needs an Ultra sound to track the spleen masses and blood work and after that we’re back to square one. We need help saving Ellie.
