Help Ellory and Madeline Find a Safe Home

Hello everyone

My name is Ellory, but as you all will see, my legal name is Katelynn. I am a 29 year old disabled nonbinary writer. For the last four years, I have been planning on leaving the state of Utah.

After countless battles with trying to go on disability and failing due to Utah's poor laws with disability in general, I had been planning on trying another state for a while.

Unfortunately, I cannot work conventional jobs. I am autistic, have ADHD, and can only stand for so long before getting dizzy or having fatigue spells.

Though my primary care provider is looking into this as well, it's been a long road with no answers.

In spite of this, I have been rejected for disability. This was the main reason why we were going to move out of state. I do likely qualify in other states for it.

However, things have changed in a horrific way. From what was a planned move to be budgeted and saved for needs to be escalated quickly.

I am in a same sex marriage with my partner, Madeline. This has caused us to be heavily discriminated against with taxes, hospital visits, and even jobs. We have been charged at multiple times and harassed frequently by people that can't mind their own business.

We've been even denied service at a Spencer's before due to the fact we don't want to hide we're a couple, so more "progressive" places aren't safe for us.

We have both admitted we are concerned we are going to be attacked at a moment's notice. We no longer want to hide. We hate living on the edge and though that's not entirely possible due to what's happened, we want to take a leap of faith.

After a long discussion, we have decided to move forward with a fresh start earlier than we planned and we do need a bit of financial assistance. There's a good chance we will not be able to keep Maddie's job and we want to be ready for the worst case scenario.

We are fully aware we can't escape everything that may pass in our new state on a federal level, but we feel like we will have a chance elsewhere that's more liberal.

We'd like to be out before Jan 2025, but we know that is very possible we may not get out by then. We really hate to ask because there are so many people that need help around the world, but we do appreciate your time to read our situation.
