Help Elsa Get Some Wheels!
Donation protected
Three years ago, we bought Elsa a second-hand special needs stroller off Facebook that she has since outgrown. She is ready to graduate to a pediatric wheelchair that will grow WITH her through the next few years! Why does Elsa need a wheelchair? Elsa’s Rett Syndrome diagnosis, a genetic mutation that affects Elsa’s mobility, balance, and spatial awareness, means she can tire easily. Having a set of wheels helps Elsa feel grounded and safe when in public and loud spaces. A wheelchair would make outings enjoyable and accessible for our entire family! Many of you regularly ask how you can help us or send us regrets that you don’t know how to best help us. We don’t always know how to best answer those offers. And some of you have already helped us, bringing us meals and sending gifts to help offset the costs of some of Elsa’s needs. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Elsa’s village is expansive and strong. We appreciate all that you’ve done and continue to do. At this time in our lives, as we transition out of North Carolina to a new home, this wheelchair is a large but necessary purchase for our family. Our health insurance will not cover this expense. If you can help—or would like to help—we would be both humbled and full of gratitude for the support. Love and thanks to each of you!
