Help Emil Overcome His Life-Changing Injury

My name is Nadia Roife. Our close friend and neighbor, Emil Mammedov, was a victim of the most vicious, brutal attack by two pit bulls outside of his home the night of October 7, 2024. The dogs bit him various times before he could get help. One of the dogs aimed for Emil's throat. His wife, Ilaha, rescued Emil after she heard him scream. Emil is undergoing emergency surgery and will require extensive rehabilitation for this injury. The dogs bit off parts of his body, including a large piece of skin underneath his right eye. We are all lucky that Emil is alive!

Emil has been a staple in our community. He is a recent transplant to Minnesota by way of Las Vegas. Last year, the family sustained a catastrophic fire in their apartment and lost close to 70% of their belongings. Despite this hardship, Emil never complained or missed a single day of work. Emil is a man of integrity, family values, and loyalty to his community and friends. He always has the most beautiful, sincere, and loving smile on his face. Emil is a breadwinner for his family as a professional chef, and together with Ilaha, the family ran a small catering business. His traditional and delicious Azerbaijani cooking graced many parties, picnics, events, and religious ceremonies alike. Emil is the head of his family, earning an income while his 4 minor daughters attend school.

Let's show this wonderful, loving, and sincere man how much we care about him. Let's rally together around family, integrity, and help this family while Emil gets back on his feet. Let's show this family that we as a community care about horrific injuries, and we care about the well-being of others during these difficult times.
