Help Emily Devenport Pay Emergency Medical Bills

I’ve been a fan of SF author Emily Devenport since I first stumbled across her debut novel, Shade, way back in 1991. With a string of amazing books to her credit, like Scorpianne, Godheads, and Medusa in the Graveyard, you might imagine that she’s living like Stephen King or J.K Rowling. But, like most working writers, her lifestyle is far more humble than what you may be picturing.
The truth is that she struggles to make ends meet like the rest of us. After an emergency appendectomy and an unplanned hospital stay (without health insurance), she’s facing some hefty medical bills that simply are not in the budget.
I’ve never met Emily in person, but her writing has touched my life many times. This campaign is a chance for me to touch her life in return.
I’m inviting you to join me.
Whether you’re a fan of Emily’s work, an SF nerd like me, or just someone who loves getting lost in the pages of a good paperback, this is your opportunity to help someone who creates wonder and adventure in a world that can use a little of both.
