Help Emm Bee Sea through Car Crash and Emergency Medical!

Donation protected
On Monday, September 9th, my girlfriend Marin, aka "Emm Bee Sea" in online spaces, was in a severe car accident while traveling back home from Riptide 2024. After dropping me back off at my Ohio home, she and her roommate were on the interstate, traveling 70 mph (113 kmh) when a truck approached her from behind and merged into her lane, hitting the back of the car. This caused her to swerve and lose control, making her car flip over 2 to 3 times before coming to a stop in the grass nearby. Both her and her roommate suffered injuries from the accident, and while they're thankfully both alive, they did not come out unscathed. Marin's roommate got immediate attention and was discharged not long after, while Marin at the time thought she was fine, despite hitting her head during the accident. After I drove the two hours to the hospital she was at, I insisted she see emergency medical care, she agreed and upon receiving an X-ray to her head she was noted to have internal bleeding in her brain. While it is absolutely a serious injury, it was thankfully not a lot, and she was kept in a room in the hospital overnight to be scanned again the following morning. Upon receiving a CT scan, the doctors and neurologist determined her condition had stabilized and she was alright to be discharged. I am relieved that she's safe and that she is able to walk, talk, and think clearly.

We managed to salvage the belongings from her destroyed vehicle, and I've since taken her back to my apartment in Ohio, and soon I'll be driving her 6 hours back to her home in another state. She is obviously without a car at the moment, but another glaring issue is that within the past couple months Marin was let go from her county government job, which at the time was providing her with health insurance. She is currently dealing with a traumatic experience from this accident on top of seeking a ton of medical assistance despite her currently not having ANY health insurance. That is the reason I have decided to make this GoFundMe to support her, as while she is out of the emergency department for now, she is going to have to follow up with multiple doctors, both things like a primary care provider (which she currently doesn't have), and a neurologist, since she may also have a concussion on top of things. There will likely be plenty of follow ups for her in the future when it comes to the road to recovery.

Many of you know Marin as Emm Bee Sea, as she is a contributing member of both the SiIvaGunner and TTGD youtube channels, making hundreds upon hundreds of high quality rips/mashups/songs for everyone's enjoyment. You might also know her from seeing her numerous comments around YouTube, especially in both the Ripping community and the Melee community. That's how I met her in the first place after all (you might even recognize my comments too!). She is a sweet, caring, wonderful individual that loves music, juggling, Love Live, vtubers, Smash, and lots of of other things. I know a lot of you recognize that and I'm hoping that both my streaming community and the SiIvaGunner community will be willing to help out an important member of their communities. All proceeds contributed to this GoFundMe will go directly to Emm to help her through her recovery and to get back on her feet. As someone who's been a commenter on SiIvaGunner content since the very first month of the original channel, we'd appreciate any support that comes her way.

It's been a very distressing couple days and I want to do anything in my power to help get her back to doing what she loves without worry or pain. She's the most important person in the world to me and I can only hope things will get better for her from here. Thank you all so much for any support, big or small. Much love.

UPDATE 9/11/24: After leaving this morning at 10:30 AM and getting myself some new tires and a full day of driving, I’ve managed to get Marin back home around 9 PM. I’m relieved she’s safely made it back. Since I’ve been on the road all day, I’ve been mostly unable to catch up on donations, but I want to thank all of you SO much for helping us reach well over half the original goal for her in such a short time, we’re both absolutely blown away by the support from everyone. We seriously can’t thank you enough.

I’m gonna try and get followed up with a PCP hopefully by Friday. Her roommate who was also in the accident saw one today and found out that he also has a concussion, and while Marin is stable and in good spirits, we’re not out of the woods yet, since brain injuries can be silent and without symptoms before turning more serious. Hopefully things will only get better from here.

I’ll be doing the same drive tomorrow to go back home due to prior obligations, but I’ll still be keeping up with her health regularly and will continue to try to post updates when necessary. Again thank you SO much, she really is feeling everyone’s love for her through all this, and that means so much. Keep sharing this around to help get her some more support if you like or just keep her in your thoughts, whatever you feel is your best way of being supportive. Love you all~

UPDATE 2 - 9/12/24: While with her today, I got her to the grocery store so she could have food for a while, and we managed to get her a follow up appointment with a PCP tomorrow, on Friday. Hopefully everything goes well. She wanted to drive but I think she should get clearance first from the doctor before she starts getting on the road again. Instead, I offered to pay for a Lyft so she can get to and from the appointment, so she won’t have to worry about driving for the time being.

While I was tempted to stay another day, in the end I had prior obligations on Friday morning which led me to head out less than 24 hours after I got her home. I did manage to make it back to my home safe after around 7 hours of driving, so I’m just glad everyone is finally in their own homes safe and sound. While I’m not with her in person, I’ll be keeping up with her condition and overall health and if anything happens I’ll say something about it. Things are looking up though I think, as long as the PCP has good things to say.

Oh and also thank you THANK YOU so much for raising over $10,000 for her in just two days. We’re both absolutely floored by the continued support everyone has shown during all this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Now, I’ll be getting some rest cause I’m so exhausted, good night for now~
