Help Emma Brooks family with medical expenses

10/6 Update

Emma has now been moved to the step-down unit.

Next week, she will start her physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) rehab. Despite still not having feeling in her legs, she continues to demonstrate unwavering spirit and determination.

Update October 4th . Emma is still in Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. She is still in the ICU after her surgery. Emma still has no feeling from her waist to her feet. This family has gone through a lot in the last few days. Emma’s family needs to start preparing for her return home In the near future.

We are asking for donations to start making the necessary accommodations for her return.

Hello, on Sept 30th at the Sydmor Arena Barrel Horse Show Emma fell off her horse and lost feeling in her legs. Emma was Flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and under went surgery for 6 hours. Emma has a Fracture in her back at T10/T11.

T11 was then shifted back into the spinal cord causing the compression on the spinal cavity.

Screws were placed in the vertebrae to support the vertebrae. The doctors placed two rods along her spine to help with the alignment on the spine.

Emma has no feeling from her hips to her feet at this time. There is a lot of trauma and swelling to the spine.

We need the horse community to come together and help this family. I am asking for financial assistance to help this family get through this terrible accident.
