Emma or Death

( Story: Defending Emma)

Emma or Death is fundraising up 30k or more because Emma is in the process of being adopted. "Give me liberty, or give me death!" is a quotation attributed to Patrick Henry from a speech he made to the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775, at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia. Hence the “Emma or Death” title for this patriotic Fundraiser. The Donors of the group are attempting to prevent the adoption set forth by her mother and return Emma to her father.

Hi my name is Omar. I am Emma’s Father I am a Marine Veteran, I work everyday, Emma is my only child, and she has her own room at my house. ( Pictured )

However, her mother is attempting to adopt her to someone who has a great adoption lawyer.

One might speculate, Omar must’ve done something wrong. He must have allegations of abuse or neglect, he must not had paid his child support, he must not have signed her birth certificate, he must have criminal history, he must be unstable financially, homeless, or addicted to alcohol or drugs, he must be on medication, or he must be mentally Ill, etc.. . I do understand doubting, for I am also in doubt as to how this can legally happen? Of course, the court must find me unfit in order to adopt away Emma, but don’t be naïve

Although none of the earlier presumptions are true and although I am her biological father; I am legally flawless, yet a judge is happily preparing to adopt Emma to their rich friend and I can fight as hard as I want without a lawyer... but the adoption is going to happen because It’s more then one way to skin a cat without a lawyer.

Many will totally forget to help Emma by just assuming that Judges have good/ rational nature/ intentions. Strangers tell me like ,“Court will be fine Omar, if her mother doesn’t want her then you can take her, it’s easy, you’re her Dad. That’s why we are all born with two parents -Right?” Obviously, father's rights legislation is lackluster at best. Fathers in Illinois know all to well what I am going through.

In fact, I am not a lawyer; however, in addition to my fighting Emma’s adoption case without a lawyer, I have also opened a family case against her mother without a lawyer. In an attempt to win Emma directly from her mother, I have created a Petition, a summons, a notice of motion, a motion for custody, and all to no avail. The Adoption lawyer just Intervened and completely stopped my Family case that I created. Lawyers are like sharks and the courtrooms are an ocean. If you are swimming in the ocean and a shark pops up you are food... Unless you have another shark to protect you.

I am only representing Emma because we cannot afford a lawyer, but if nothing was done Emma losses by default. Retainer fees for civil lawyers start at $10,000 to $15,000, and at 2/3 empty it must be refilled. The Kane county lawyers cost $300 an hour on average. Anything that they do that is less then an hour is 1/10 of the $300 fractioned accordingly. For example: $30 for them to make a 1-6 minute call $90 for a 13 min email, $150 to drive to the courthouse if it is 30 minutes away.... and another $150 to go home. Hopefully, you get the point. Emma’s 5 years old and Emma’s livelihood is on the line here so... “this is not a Drill”

Back in Iraq, I fought the good fight —Three separate trips to do the good fight. This case, for me, reminds me of being there all over again. Just walking past a cracked open door or a window without checking. Just if some insect repellent you wear is carried the wrong way by the breeze. Just drive past something that looks like trash on the side of the road; it can spell disaster and Emma has no father. Everything is life changing. I have an important job. Everyday, my donors help me fight.  As you read this, I hope the enemy can hear war drums whipping our troops into a frenzy. Emma's home Team line the berm as far as the eye can see. C130s are flying overhead dropping war zone leaflets telling them we are coming. If you have never sacked a citadel— here it is folks—this is your chance. Support the Dads. Every donor is supporting the mission of fathers who want to love and develop a relationship with their children, so join in Emma’s story... you can be a hero and help one of the few Marines in Rockford fight an uphill battle.

I sworn an oath to uphold the U.S. constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, the oath ended with “So Help Me God!” — This is unconstitutional, actually, it’s outright white collar kidnapping. I am trying to fight the enemy myself saving blue collar me thousands of dollars in the process... but as the case comes to a close, I need swift resolve. Think of the implications, a complete loss of a child, a child’s completely severed from her entire family. Her Grandmother and Grandfather. Her Father. Her Aunties and Uncles. Her sister’s and brothers. Her history and heritage.

I contacted the Arm forces legal aid Network, the Veterans assistance commission, the Veterans justice outreach, and the Veterans Affaires:  None could  provide me a lawyer. The courtroom battle is ongoing, and Emma definitely needs a lawyer before her next court appearance. Lawyers can contact me.

I got nothing solid from any of those Organizations who are supposed to specialize in helping Veterans. I have done nothing wrong, but I am not a lawyer and I have exhausted every Avenue and every resource and every reference. I know Emma will win with a lawyer and I know the only reason they can beat her is because she cannot afford one. We appreciate any donation and I will donate any excess proceeds to organizations that help veterans with legal matters.

I’d bet she’s staring at the sky listening for the helicopters-- because help is coming. #SAVEEMMA
