Help Emoral Farmer Rebuild Her Home and Life

Hi, my name is Emoral Farmer. I am a 35-year-old single mother who has been working day and night to purchase my first home in Fayetteville, GA. After saving $56,000, I moved into the house in March 2022, only to discover that it was built on top of a septic tank. One morning, I woke up to find my house flooded with urine and waste from the septic tank.

Since March 2022, my family has been staying in hotels. I lost my job because I had to keep meeting with builders from Chisel Mill Design & Build LLC, but unfortunately, nothing has been accomplished. Since then, I have lost my home and both of my cars and have been struggling to stay afloat. This process has also caused me to lose family support, making it even harder to go through this alone.

The builder has been unhelpful; the owner of Chisel Mill Design & Build lied to the courts as well as my insurance company and my attorney, claiming that he had fixed my home. Currently, my house is gutted and unlivable due to the excessive mold that has built up. An environmentalist evaluated the situation and determined that the mold levels are too high for the home to be habitable. There are no floors in the house.

My children have suffered due to being uprooted and constantly moving around, especially since I don’t have transportation and we have had to stay in and out of hotels. This has been the hardest time in my life. I recently returned to work, but due to complications with my pregnancy, my doctor has put me on bed rest.

I am a hardworking woman and not used to asking for help. However, I would greatly appreciate any assistance as I have a 16-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old daughter who are both struggling due to this situation. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
