Help empower the girl child in Uganda - 2023
Donation protected
Hello Friends!
Happy Holidays!
My name is Anitta. In late 2022, we successfully raised $1,422 through our year-end campaign, which extended into 2023. This fund helped us create and distribute over 150 reusable sanitary kits and educational materials including 70 dozen books, pens, and pencils (refer to our campaign photo). We also managed to distribute some donated second-hand clothes. Thanks to your support, over 150 girls from underprivileged backgrounds now have fewer worries about managing their menstrual hygiene, at least for some time. Your contributions have been instrumental in supporting the education of these young girls. Thank you so much for your generosity.
I'd like to share a personal experience. This year, my mother underwent her second brain tumor surgery. Throughout this challenging period, I was filled with both fear and gratitude, grateful that I could ensure she received the best possible medical care. My sisters, family, and I leveraged our educational background to navigate complex medical information to advocate for the care she needed. This educational foundation, laid by my mother and her village of family and friends, empowered us to ask critical questions and ensure she received the care necessary to keep her with for more years. I am deeply thankful to God and our small village. I especially remember a nurse who was a friend of my mother who helped us prepare cotton wool and medical gauze for my sanitary needs for my school semester, creating a cost-effective alternative to commercial sanitary products.
I am initiating this campaign to become part of a girl's village just like the ones that supported me to get to where I am now and I invite you to join this cause. We will continue to support the same charity, African Empowerment Hub, because my friend Sandra's dedication to ending menstrual poverty is unwavering and genuine.
Will you join me in becoming part of a young girl's village, helping to ensure she can provide for her loved ones in the future? I hope you will say yes. Every contribution, no matter the size, is valuable.
Thank you once again, and happy holidays!
