Story Academy is a Special Education School in Lagos, Nigeria, born from the vision of Leke Aderohunmu and his wife Wumi. Inspired by the journey with their own son who has special needs, they dreamed of creating a place where children like him could thrive.
Tragically, Leke lost his battle with cancer — but his dream lives on. The creation of Story Academy is both a fulfilment of that dream and a lasting legacy to honour his life, passion, and commitment to children with special educational needs in Nigeria.
Our mission is to bridge the educational gap for children with disabilities and provide a safe, inclusive space where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally to gain the skills they need for lifelong independence.
Since launching in 2024, we’ve:
- Enrolled 10 amazing students
- Built a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Implemented personalised learning plans with real progress in literacy and numeracy
- Fostered stronger peer interaction, social development, and emotional growth

- Build a residential facility for students who need boarding
- Expand our teaching programs to meet diverse learning needs
- Renovate the school for a safer, more engaging environment
