Help EMT-FF Savannah Recover from Tragic Accident
Savannah is a first-responder, working as an EMT/Firefighter, for Henderson County, NC. She was on a call on Wednesday evening, tending to a patient in the back of the ambulance when a car going 90 mph hit the ambulance head on. The impact was so hard that the engine of the car that hit the ambulance flew out of the car. The patient she was tending to survived, but Savannah's head and face absorbed all of the impact. She suffered from several facial and head injuries, including an unhinged/broken jaw (which her seasoned specialty trauma doctor described as, "a jaw break, so bad, he had never seen before"), fractured eye sockets, crushed nose, deep facial gash, which required 3 hours of stitches, loss of several teeth and a severe concussion. Savannah was in the ICU and on a ventilator for 7 days. She endured a 9 hour surgery to repair her injuries. She is now recovering from surgery at Mission Hospital, in Asheville, NC. Recovery will be long with more surgeries in her future. Please help her get through this tragic accident. Your help is much appreciated. I am Savannah’s partner, Mia Jimenez, and I wanted to thank those for taking the time to hear her story and donate. We love you all.
