Help Enrique, father of 3, Beat Cancer with IPT Treatment
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and neighbors,
Our dear friend Enrique Samson faces a significant challenge, fighting two cancer diagnoses and needing our support. We seek your prayers and donations today. Enrique was originally diagnosed with cancer over two years ago, while his wife, Caitlin, was expecting their third child. The family’s medical debt from treatment over the last two years ballooned to nearly $500,000, and while they have paid off most of it, they still face substantial monthly payments. This year, Enrique experienced a recurrence, and some portions of his new treatment plan are not covered by his insurance, slowing his treatment and threatening his prognosis. His doctors are optimistic, yet time is of the essence. In addition to ongoing prayer and support for Enrique and his family, we are now rallying for them financially and hoping to raise $90,000 for his IPT medical treatment, which insurance won’t cover. This experimental treatment is more efficient for his case and will let him focus on healing and finishing paying off
his debt. All heart felt donations help, no matter the amount. You can also help by sharing Enrique’s story.
The Family:
Enrique, originally from Mexico City, is a self-employed entrepreneur
and works and lives near Atlanta, GA, with Caitlin, and three
children, under the age of six. Their oldest, a 6-year-old boy, loves
construction and numbers. Their 4-year-old daughter, Daddy’s little
girl, has a big heart and a love for fashion. The youngest, a 2-year-old
boy, is a high-energy chatterbox. The family enjoys spending time
together, and the children rely on Enrique and Caitlin’s caring
support.
Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prognosis:
In 2021, Enrique was diagnosed with stage II nasopharyngeal
carcinoma with metastasis to the neck lymph nodes and chronic
lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL).
CLL/SLL is considered chronic but manageable. Enrique has shown
great strength, fighting both diseases with determination. His doctors focus is on the carcinoma as a life-or-death priority, requiring concurrent chemo/radiation. Insurance covers radiation but not IPT chemotherapy.
Enrique had two rounds of chemotherapy and chemo/radiation,
resulting in partial remission and observation for two years. The
treatment left the family with a debt of nearly half a million dollars, and they have almost paid it all off, however they still have high
monthly payments remaining to pay off the balance. The carcinoma is still contained, which gives an optimistic prognosis, but his doctors are concerned about the side effects of a third round of chemo and radiation, which could be permanent or life-threatening. IPT, a low-dose chemotherapy treatment, offers a promising approach with fewer side effects.
Financials:
Insurance covers many costs, including radiation therapy, but not IPT. This crucial treatment and its follow-ups will cost around $90,000. If contributions exceed this amount, they will help pay the family’s medical bills and fund further lymphoma and leukemia treatments.
Thank you for donating and sharing today!
Enrique was initially reluctant to start this fundraiser, but we, his close friends, convinced him. Enrique is an inspiring faith-filled man, striving to serve Our Lord through all of his words and actions. He often says he wants to save his life not for himself but for his children. Your prayers and, donations, along with sharing Enrique’s story, can make a big difference for this family. They will help Enrique get the IPT treatment he needs, bring him closer to recovery, and ease the financial strain on his family. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Please say a prayer, make a donation, and share this campaign. Together, we can give Enrique the best chance to beat this challenge and remain the caring father and husband his children and wife need.
Warm regards,
