Help our dad, Enrique, pay for medical expenses.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for visiting this GoFundMe for my dad. He was unexpectedly hospitalized due to covid pneumonia last Thursday (May 6th) and has incurred a hefty hospital bill. He is still receiving treatment for covid and pneumonia, and thankfully he’s responding well. His primary source of income is a small Chinese restaurant he runs in the rural town of Santo Domingo, Ecuador, however due to the pandemic he has barely been able to keep open for business as Ecuador is still enforcing quarantines nationwide. The medical bills have added up quickly and now represent a large sum of money that is going to be difficult to pay.


For a little more context, early last week my dad developed a nasty cough, and a few days later a fever ensued, and he was not breathing very well. We immediately knew it was most likely covid related and had him transported from his home town Santo Domingo to the capital city of Quito to get medical treatment. However, upon arrival, several clinics and hospitals could not assist him, as most hospitals and clinics in Quito are currently at full capacity due to a new covid surge. Our choices were few but thankfully we found a clinic where they took him in. His oxygen levels were dangerously low and his cough had gotten worse. Currently, my dad has been getting better, he is still oxygen-dependent and needs to be in the hospital with medication but he is more stable.


And so here we are, my family and I are seeking help from anyone who would be able to contribute whatever dollar amount they are willing or able, or a simple share on social media that would also go a very long way. Thank you for being a blessing to my family and I.
