Hello, my name is Alicia Rojas local artist.
The first Poderosas mural in the city of Costa Mesa, CA was vandalized on 10/31/22 and tagged with words of hate and white supremacy. This mural was done to honor WOC in Orange County, brown woman and all around inspiring mujeres.
We are humbly asking for any support to cover supplies and new anti-graffiti coating.
help me erase hate from a community wall that is to honor women of color in Orange County.

The Poderosas mural was created during the pandemic, weeks after Black Lives Matter protests around the country and right before the 2020 elections. Located in the City of Costa Mesa, CA. A public art project funded through a grant awarded by Community Engagement.
The mural highlights the contributions of women of color in Orange County, CA. At a time when symbols of the confederacy were being burned to the ground around the country, we were building and creating new spaces and public art. This mural celebrates women and people of color, by honoring their contributions to U.S. History. It is composed of eight removable digital illustrations that rest in a 6ft x 70ft community mural.
Modesta Avila (1891, San Juan Capistrano heroine), Dolores Huerta (1930, Labor & Civil Rights Leader), Sylvia Mendez (1936, Namesake Plaintiff in Mendez v.
