Help Eric Kick Cancer!

Let me tell you a bit about my son Eric. Since he was a little boy he has always been go, go, go. Always playing soccer, baseball and later found his love for skateboarding. This was his love and was definitely a big part of his life. He surrounded himself with great friends that love skating as well. He’s always been very active and fit and very rarely ever down for any amount of time for any reason
He has such a sweet kind hearted soul who would do anything for anyone. Always made you laugh and put a smile on your face. He loves his sisters and is always there for them.
April 2016 we got the biggest blow anyone could ever imagine. He was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, after having a cough for about 2 months that would not go away.
Our family was in total sock and couldn’t believe it. Before we knew it he was receiving 6 cycles of ABDV chemotherapy. It was so incredibly hard to see your child have to fight so hard and to struggle not just physically but emotionally and everything else that comes with a cancer diagnosis, sickness, hair loss, along with emotional and physical changes as well. He then had 20 radiation treatments after chemo to make sure the cancer was all gone.
We were scheduled for a Pet scan April 26th, that would have given him the all clear and a cancer free diagnosis, Unfortunately on April 10th, we found out he had relapsed. Now he is starting GDB, a high dose chemotherapy, followed by a stem cell transplant. He will be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks, as well as weeks of after care.
We are so devastated for him. Our hearts are broken. To see your child go through something like this is unimaginable.
It is going to be a tough road ahead for us all, not just emotionally, but also financially. With myself having to miss a lot of time from work to be there with him for his treatments and care at home and also for an extended period of time at the Juravinski Clinic for the stem cell transplant soon, and also other medical expenses.
We are truly swallowing our pride and asking for help this time, so we can be there with him through this and help him beat this cancer.
