Help Eric’s family doing this difficult time

On November 10, I got a phone call that would change my life. It was a phone call that would be a nightmare. I was told that I had to go to Peoria because my son Eric was airlifted there from Davenport, Iowa. They told me he was in a bad car accident. On my way to Peoria to be with my son, I got a call from a private investigator who told me that Eric was not in a car accident; another person tried to take his life by hitting him with their car. I couldn’t believe this was happening, how anybody could think it was OK to take somebody else’s life.
When I got to Peoria, I had to make a decision to either save Eric’s life or let him pass away. Eric’s never once died, so I decided to fight for him because if he was going to fight for his life, I had to fight for him also. They began the surgery by removing his skull from his head so his brain could swell because his brain was bleeding. Every bone in his face was busted except his jaw, his right arm was broken, his neck was broken, his ribs were broken, his lungs were punctured, and his right leg was broken. Eric has undergone eight surgeries in one month. He was in ICU for 23 days.
Because of all of this, I have to put in a walk-in shower in my house for him, which was one thing I was not expecting. I have lots of expenses for medical bills because this was not something I planned for, especially since he is only 19 years old. This senseless act of violence has altered a lot of people's lives. Eric has weeks and weeks of physical therapy to go through, but he is truly a miracle because they didn’t even think he was going to live. By the grace of God, Eric is still here. I would like to thank everybody so much who has helped me through all of this. My stress level is so high. Eric is an amazing son and friend. He loves playing soccer, and he really loves to mess with cars. There’s nothing better than having my son tell me that he loves me. We are getting out the hospital they are releasing him because of insurance saying it’s time for him to go.. because of this I have to drive him to his doctors appointments and physical therapy appointments and they are sending him home with out his Right bone flap on his head not sure when they are going to put on.. not sure when I am going back to work.. because he needs 24 hour care.. so our needs have changed.. it’s super hard for me to ask for help because I have always worked 2 jobs to take care of my children as a single mom.. but now I can’t work at all.. so I don’t know how I am going to pay bills.. I am scared because I don’t know what my future holds for me and Eric..
