Last year Eric had a really bad Crohn’s flare up that landed him in the ER twice. When he was admitted he was told his insurance would cover the cost, but after his release they told him he was not covered because it was a pre-existing condition.
Eric’s hospital bill was about 8K in total. Eric did work out payments on a payment schedule with the hospital but he could not fulfill their requirements so the hospital sent his bill to a collections company. The Collections Company now demands $600 a month and I know Eric and Candra can’t afford that.
That collection company is now in the process of suing them. As his employer I received a registered letter on Saturday for wage garnishment.
If you know Eric the way I do you know that he wouldn’t go to the hospital unless he was on the brink of death, maybe not even then.
I work alongside Eric and now I know how horrible Crohn’s disease is. Truly a disease that affects every aspect of life when it flairs up. At work I noticed there were times he couldn’t eat anything, lost an extreme amount of weight, had no energy, and was also in severe pain but he kept at it and never complained. I’ve been in business for 35 years and have had lots of employees and without a doubt Eric is the best one I have ever had and pleasure to work with.
One of the main causes of these flare up’s is stress, and the stress from this event is causing his issues to come back with a vengeance!
Whatever donation you pledge for Eric and Candra I know would be greatly appreciated.
One more thing, Eric was too proud to start this go fund me account so I am.
Thankyou
