Hello Everyone who is so lucky to be any part of Erica's life.
We know this news is difficult. Today we learned that Erica emerged from that major surgery with promising results, and yet, with luck, the road ahead is long. A long road means her path is a successful one, a path that outpaced all dire expectations. It also means a difficult, exhausting, expensive experience for both her and her beloved wife Sarah. They will travel to and from treatment, and need lodging in a town featuring astronomical residency costs. The chemo and radiation requires a 3 week stay in Boston. With check-ins both before and after this treatment, we expect additional costs with already existing living expenses nearing 13k just through year's end.
Neither Sarah nor Erica can work for the foreseeable future, and trips to Boston have cropped up just in the month since this diagnosis arrived. That's where we come in. Together we can offer them some peace. Nothing makes a medical emergency worse than added financial worries. This year will bring countless treatments. For instance, as I write this, Erica is undergoing a procedure to stave off a small infection from the surgery to ensure her path to chemo and radiation is swift. This is an unexpected 4-5 extra days in Boston that are the difference that ensure Erica's survival. Complications arise, always. We all know that this is a wild time to be alive, and our collective intention is to stay decidedly alive through it all. Your support, your kindness, and your prayers are so appreciated.
The Warmest Regards,
Team E.
