Help Erica Heal: Support a Beloved Member of the Roofing Community
Hello friends, family, and the roofing community,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support for Erica, a remarkable individual who has been a pillar of the roofing industry. Known for her wisdom, generosity, and kindness, Erica has touched countless lives with her advice and willingness to help others. Now, she needs our support.
On August 3, 2024, Erica experienced a life-changing accident. She fell 15 feet off a roof onto a deck, landing hard on her lower back. The impact caused severe injuries, including three fractured discs in her lower spine. Her chiropractor has urged her to get an MRI to evaluate possible ruptured discs and other damage that X-rays cannot detect. Unfortunately, even with insurance, the cost of these MRIs is staggering, ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 depending on the number of scans needed.
The pain Erica endures is debilitating, affecting her neck, upper back, lower back, hips, and radiating down her legs. Although she can still drive, the pain has made it impossible for her to manage the long drives—3-9 hours a day—that were once routine for her appointments. Her condition has worsened to the point where her legs sometimes shake, making it unsafe to press the gas or brake pedal. On one occasion, she had to sit in a parking lot for two hours, waiting for the pain to subside enough to drive home. Everyday tasks have become overwhelming, and she has been unable to work since the accident.
While Erica is working with professionals to secure the medical help she needs, the process is slow—it could take six months to a year before she receives any substantial assistance. In the meantime, with no income, she has exhausted all other resources and is now turning to her community for help.
Erica needs support to cover basic necessities like bills, gas, and groceries while she focuses on her recovery and navigates this challenging time. She has always been a selfless person, giving so much of herself to others. Now, it’s our turn to give back to her.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in Erica’s life. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign or keeping her in your prayers. Together, we can help Erica get through this difficult chapter and give her the chance to heal.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Let’s come together to lift Erica up and remind her of the strength and compassion of this incredible community. Thank You to all who have donated.
