Help Erica McKay Afford Life-Saving Surgery

Hi, my name is Erica McKay. I have been battling cancer for 35 years off and on. I'm from New Orleans. I was given 6 months to live for the first time two months after Hurricane Katrina. I've had all different types of cancer: breast (3x), ovarian, cervical, colon, and stomach cancer. Over the years, I was given 3-6 months to live multiple times.
Over the past 3 years, it's been really hard. I developed colon cancer, and that was the worst. I was 287 pounds, but I couldn't eat and I got down to 83 pounds. I coded and was brought back to life over 10 times throughout these last two years. I was on disability, but I couldn't live off $1300 a month, so I had to start back working. It has not been easy. I go to chemotherapy and some days radiation, and then go to work. It's hard to do, but I have no choice. I have to be able to take care of myself.
Recently, I have been diagnosed with stomach cancer, kidney, and thyroid cancer. I try my best to work even if I'm not feeling well. There have been several times I have to go on break because I start coughing up blood or throwing up, but still, I will get myself together and go back out to my table. They gave me 6 months to live in September, which was around my birthday. I have to have surgery, but I have not been able to come up with the $6500 that is needed for my surgery. I have not been able to eat for the past 4 weeks, which caused me to be admitted to the hospital for a week. I drove myself to work on Monday, 1/6/25, but I was throwing up so bad I couldn't go in to get dressed. At that time, the doctor's office called and said to go to the emergency room. I was in no shape to drive, so my son drove from Dallas to Winstar to get me and bring me to the hospital. I was there from 1/6-1/12/2025. The doctors said my cancer is progressing and I need to have surgery soon to prolong my life.
It has been hard trying to come up with the money for surgery. I am not one to share my life struggles, but if I can buy myself some time to enjoy my two sons and 2 grandchildren, I would love to. I was asked by a dear friend to share my story to see if I can get help. It's been a long road. I've been battling cancer for so long; my journey has been very difficult. I'm just reaching out to everyone to see if I can get some help. I appreciate any and every little help I can get through this platform, and thank you all in advance.
