Help Erich In His Battle Against Addiction

Donation protected

Hello Friends and Family,

My name is Erich and I'm an accomplished filmmaker, avid sports fan, and have always wanted to make the world a better place. In my early 30s while seeking an edge over other professionals in my field, I fell into an addiction to methamphetamine and have struggled with it ever since. After a few years of being clean, I relapsed last July and began a downward spiral where I ended up hurting many people, especially those closest to me, resulting in me recently hitting rock bottom. I cheated, lied, and deceived my fiance, and ultimately got caught. I broke her heart and gave her no choice but to call off the engagement. My actions forced me to take a serious look at myself, to face the horrible choices I've made, and how they have far reaching consequences that will last years, and in some cases, lifetimes. Although I previously (and privately) had been able to get myself clean, it's obvious to me now that I cannot win this battle alone.

Where Do I Get Professional Help?

Currently, I am in an intense out-patient program to treat my addiction but I have found that it's not enough. My goal isn't to just put a band-aid on this problem, but instead to completely defeat my addiction in a way that it will never come back ever. The only option that seems to make sense is a fully-immersive in-patient program that will not only give me the tools to succeed in overcoming this affliction, but to become a master at it. Through resources that insurance has provided me with, I discovered an incredible rehabilitation center that I know is the perfect place for me: Tree House Recovery.

About Tree House Recovery

"Tree House Recovery is about ending addiction for good. Most rehabs don’t work because they only focus on talk therapy, and talking is not enough. Addiction is too complex. We believe that treatment has to be as dynamic as the men we treat. That is why Tree House has built a “True Bio-Psych-Social” program. Our rehab is truly holistic. Because result should last, we have the only rehab in the world that treats the mind, body and social aspects of addiction. Our adaptive approach is different than anything out there.

Free from addiction, Tree House grads lead lives that they love. Lives that make their friends and families proud. Lives beyond sober. We believe that simply removing drugs is not enough. We equip men with the skills and knowledge they need to live lasting, healthy, fulfilled lives. The empowered man who completes our program has very little in common with the man who arrived on day one." (From www.treehouserecovery.com)

My Treatment Plan

The journey at Tree House Recovery is a fully-immersive five month long program with a holistic approach using eight different modalities to focuses on the mind/body connection to build sustainable, healthy lives.
  • Action Based Induction Therapy
  • Exercise-Biological Therapy
  • Embodied Presence Yoga Therapy
  • Recovery in Action
  • Writing Therapy
  • Addiction Therapy
  • Process Therapy
  • 1-on-1 Therapy

These eight interconnected modalities work together to treat struggling addicts as a complete person. The cumulative result is a highly effective program focused on healing on an individual level.

How Can You Help?

I am asking you, from the bottom of my heart, to help support me in my battle against my addiction. Through insurance and family, I've been able to cover a portion of the cost but still need financial assistance to make my road to recovery a reality. Your donation will help me cover not only the cost of the five month program, but also housing and groceries to help me focus on doing the work it is going to take to have a successful recovery. If you are unable to donate anything, please take the time to share this page and help me get the word out, or even just write some words of encouragement. This is my chance to get the professional support I need to conquer this addiction and give me a second chance at life, and hope that I can repair some of the relationships I've damaged.

In addition to the help that I need, I also would like to request support for Robin. Despite the problems this has caused in our relationship, and her calling off our engagement, she is still completely supportive of this journey for me. Please take the time to reach out to her and give her words of encouragement, as this not only going to be a lot of work for me, but is and will continue to be very painful and difficult for her.  Just as the details and symptoms and consequences of my choices and actions are unfolding, I will be leaving her home alone to pick up the pieces.  Going to this amazing program is going to be very bittersweet, as being so far away from her, leaving her to run the house by herself, and simply being apart is going to be one of the greatest challenges ahead for me, for her and, hopefully if she allows me, for us.

Our love was special, as many of you know very well, and the depth of it remains. Robin is proving how kind and resilient she is and how unconditional her love truly is, but of course boundaries were crossed and betrayal and deception doesn’t mean unconditional love is anything goes love.  Her dedication and beautiful heart will be a beacon, but we both know I have to do this for me if there is to be any chance of real success.  My hope is that we can work our way back to each other after this five months of rehabilitation ends, and as life and the lifetime of rehabilitation and dedication begins again. Our priority is doing this the right way in the right place so my best self can emerge.

Kind words and prayers will always be welcomed and appreciated ❤️

My Promise To You

Not only will I put in the work necessary to end my addiction for good, but I will keep this page updated with my progress. I will post pictures, video, and share the life-changing experiences I will experience. And finally, I will thank every single person that helps me. Forever will I have gratitude for those who can assist me on this journey.

***Note: I am trying to enroll in this program ASAP. Also, I'm not in charge of managing any of the funds received as they will all be for my admission to Tree House Recovery.

Thank you so very much,

Erich
