Help Eric's Family Save Their Father's Home
Donation protected
My name is Eric, and any funds raised will be used to help my family save our father’s home. We have attorney fees to pay in probate court that we have incurred along with his monthly expenses.
On April 2, 2024 at 1:05pm, our world suddenly stopped for my family. We unexpectedly lost our father to colon cancer. None of us, including our dad, knew just how sick he really was. Unfortunately, there was no will or any coverage for final expenses.
We are doing our best to get by right now, but we really need the help of our friends, family and friend’s of friends. I have to be honest, I am scared. I have not ever dealt with a loss like this. This is my home, I was born and raised here. I have brought each of my children home here as well. Their Opa, my dad, was insistent that we stay with him so he never had to miss a moment.
We want to stay, I promised my dad that we would. That we would be okay. I am tossing all of this up to the generosity of family, friends and even strangers to help us keep our home.
I will update this more later as needed. Thank you all so much in advance.
Update 1 - Here are the monthly costs that we have incurred recently that exceed our means:
- Mortgage - $1,511.48 ($211,900 remains due on the house)
- Mortgage increase due to transfer - $550 (making the mortgage payment now $2,011.48)
- HOA Fees - $110
- Home Owner’s Insurance - $80
- Vehicle + Insurance - $250
- Utilities (Garbage, Water, Power) - $350
- Internet - $145
- Phone Bill - $85
- Total - $3,031.48 per month.
These are the one-time expenses that no one was prepared for:
- Cremation - $1,780
- Urn - $200
I also want to be clear that I set the goal amount for a high number because we have no idea how high of a goal to set with this. I am actively seeking a higher paying job as I lost the one I had. I would not be seeking help if I could make it by a couple more months, giving me time to get another job. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions so I know what information people may need to know.
