Help Erik Kick Cancer's Butt for the Third Time

This past May Erik and Julia received news that Erik’s cancer has come back for a third time. I have known Julia for 25 years and when she started dating Erik I knew it would last forever. Erik has now become one of my best friends and is truly like a brother to me. Seeing how this has affected their lives as they plan for their wedding in October and the start of this new stage of life, I can’t sit back and not do everything in my power to help them.

I am hoping to support Erik and Julia by raising as much money as possible to cover out of pocket costs for medical bills and treatments not covered by insurance for the next few years of Erik’s immunotherapy, PET scans and chemotherapy. The strength from both families, friends and the couple’s positive mindset is what will get Erik through this challenging time and he says, “I’m going to be able to say, I beat this for a third time.”

In September 2021, Erik was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the second time at 26 years old. Erik underwent multiple rounds of chemo, immunotherapy, and a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, life threw another curve ball and Erik’s cancer has relapsed for a third time. As you can assume, this was a complete shock to his family and friends. If you know Erik, you know he is a refreshing source of light and positivity in a world that is often dark and cruel. Life gets crazy sometimes and it's easy to forget what it is truly about. Even through multiple diagnoses, he has demonstrated so much strength and resilience. Erik has handled the news with the mindset that he will kick this. There's no other option. Now all we can do is support Erik and Julia in every way possible so he can focus on getting rid of this cancer for good!
