Hola, mi nombre es Erika Hernandez, he estado casada por 22 años con un gran hombre cariñoso y afectuoso, soy madre de cinco hermosas hijas y un hijo, todos menores de 23 años. Tengo dos nietas y estoy esperando un 3rd niet@. Amo mucho a mi familia y son la parte más importante de mi vida.

Trabajo en la Escuela Secundaria de Wauconda como conserje y me gusta mucho mi trabajo, interactuar con los estudiantes y maestros.

Algunos de ustedes pueden saber que me diagnosticaron liposarcoma el año pasado, que es una forma no común (rara) de cáncer. Este tipo de cáncer se forma en los tejidos blandos del cuerpo y es muy difícil de vencer.

Todo comenzó el 16 de junio de 2021; mi esposo me llevó a la Sala de Emergencias debido a que me quejaba de un fuerte dolor abdominal. Cuando llegué a la Sala de Emergencias, el médico ordenó que me hicieran análisis de sangre, análisis de orina y una tomografía computarizada de la médula abdominal, con y sin contraste. El Médico regresó una hora más tarde a mi habitación con los resultados, por la expresión de su rostro me di cuenta de que eran malas noticias. Me informó que comparó la nueva tomografía computarizada con una que me hicieron hace cinco años. No había anormalidades en la tomografía de hace cinco años, pero esta nueva tomografía mostró cuatro tumores del tamaño de pelotas de béisbol, entre 7 y 8 cm cada uno. Me refirieron a un especialista en Liposarcoma en el Hospital Northwestern en Chicago. Tuve una cita con el especialista de Northwestern y no me dio muchas esperanzas. Dijo que era muy poco lo que podía hacer; él podría darme algo para ayudar con el dolor y me dijo cuánto tiempo esperaba que yo viviera. No entraremos en esto porque es algo entre mi familia y yo.

Pero tengo fe en Dios y creo que tiene un plan para todos nosotros. Con la ayuda de Dios, comencé a buscar un lugar donde se especializaran en mi tipo de cáncer (liposarcoma). Encontré una ubicación en Tijuana, México, el lugar se llama Hospital Chipsa. Hablé por teléfono con un Dr de Chipsa y Gracias a Dios me dieron muchas esperanzas diciendo que me podrían ayudar con un tratamiento holístico a base de medicina natural y altas dosis de vitaminas. El medicamento y las vitaminas se administran por vía intravenosa con una dieta llamada Dieta Gerson. Pero el tratamiento cuesta alrededor de $40,000 y no aceptan seguro médico. He tratado de obtener ayuda de los bancos, organizaciones benéficas y familiares sin tener mucha suerte.

Entonces, por esta razón, humildemente pido su donación para ayudar a pagar mi tratamiento en el hospital, cualquier cantidad sería muy útil. Me estoy quedando sin tiempo, los tumores han estado creciendo y me han estado causando mucho dolor, pero todavía así yo voy a trabajar llueva o truene. Me gustaría ir al Hospital Chipsa lo antes posible. Si dejo pasar más tiempo, llegaré al punto de no tener retorno . No he podido recibir ningún tratamiento aún. Por favor oren por mí y mi familia en estos momentos difíciles que estamos viviendo.

Hi, my name is Erika Hernandez, I have been married 22 years to a loving and caring man, I’m the mother of five beautiful daughters and one son all under the age of 23. I have two granddaughters and am expecting a 3rd grandchild. I love my family very much and they are the most important part of my life.

                I work at Wauconda High school as a custodian and I really like my job, interacting with the students and teachers.

                Some of you may know that I was diagnosed with Liposarcoma last year, which is not a common (rare) form of cancer. This type of cancer forms on the soft tissue in the body and is very hard to defeat.

                It all started on June 16, 2021; my husband took me to the Emergency room due to my complaining of severe abdominal pain. When I got to the emergency room the doctor ordered a blood test, urine test and a CT scan of the abdominal cord, with and without contrast. He returned an hour later to my room with the results, by the look on his face I could tell it was bad news. He informed me that he compared the new CT scan with one I took five years ago. There were no abnormalities in the one taken five years ago, but the new one showed four tumors the size of baseballs, between 7 to 8 cm each. I was referred to a specialist in Liposarcoma at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. I had a meeting with the specialist at Northwestern and he did not give me much hope. He said there was very little he could do; he could give me something to help with the pain and told me how long he expected me to live. We will not go into that it’s something between me and my family.

                But I do have faith in God and believe that he has a plan for all of us. With Gods help I started researching for a location where they specialized in my form of cancer (Liposarcoma). I found a location in Tijuana, Mexico, the place is called Chipsa Hospital. Thanks to God, they gave me a lot of hope saying they could help me with holistic treatment based on natural medicine and vitamins. The medicine and vitamins are administered intravenously with a diet called the Gerson Diet. But the treatment runs at about $40,000 and they do not accept medical insurance. I have tried to get help from the banks, charities and family with no luck.

                So, for this reason I’m humbly asking for your donation to help pay for my hospital treatment any amount would be very helpful. I am running short on time, the tumors have been growing and have been causing me a lot of pain, but I’m still coming to work rain or shine. I would like to go to Chipsa Hospital as soon as possible. If I let more time go by, I will get to the point of no return, I have not been able to receive any treatment. Please pray for me and my family in these difficult times we are experiencing.
