Help Erika Restore Her Beautiful Smile

Hi, my name is Sharon Falk and my daughter, Erika, was involved in a serious car accident on January 31st, resulting in severe injuries to her face. The injuries and repercussions have hindered her ability to work due to struggles with talking, eating, and not having a vehicle. She's already had one surgery to remove shifted teeth and insert bone grafting material to rebuild her jaw. Total restoration will be a year-long process at the least. As of this moment, she is waiting for her fractures to heal and needs a set of temporary teeth to allow her to eat and speak normally again. Her bone grafts will take at least six months to heal fully, and by then, the surgeon hopes she can be ready for implants. She has already been through the implant process before, from a prior bicycle accident, and we know it requires multiple visits and is very expensive. The evening of the accident, her car was totaled and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Bills have already come in, and those projected for the future are growing. She's used up her savings for a replacement vehicle, and we’ve spent much of ours on the initial surgery. Car insurance, although full coverage, did not cover medical, and her dental plan was maxed out. We are without any other benefits from which to seek further compensation. We expect temporary teeth, additional surgery to remove bone fragments left in soft tissue, braces to correct her jaw alignment, and future implants to run over $25,000. Coupled with the $10,000 surgery already performed, plus the charges from the hospital ER and ambulance, the accident has taken a significant toll on all our finances.

We are all grateful that God was protecting her and that her injuries can be overcome. She is determined to keep going, get back to work, and stay involved with friends and her community of faith. We are extremely thankful for all the prayers and outpouring of support we’ve received in the past two weeks. The cards, flowers, and visits from friends, and kind words have all been a huge blessing to her during this time. We are asking for you to keep her healing and our finances in your prayers over the course of this year as she continues to improve and the dentists restore her beautiful smile.
