Boat Community Faces Eviction - Documentary of their Story

A community of people living on boats in San Francisco Bay is being evicted, and their boats are being destroyed. Local governments and agencies have been trying to remove the anchor-outs for decades, and are making the final push now.

I'm Erik Swanson, an independent documentary filmmaker. I first met and filmed several of the anchor-outs in 2022, and put together a 15 minute video to bring attention to their struggle. Now as the pressure to remove their boats from the bay ramps up I want to document the rest of this story, and turn it into a feature length documentary.

I need your help to properly document this story, and share the struggles of this unique community. This is an ongoing story, which will last at least several months. The funds will be used to help with travel, lodging, and other expenses, so I can document the anchor outs over a several month period.
