Help Erin during cancer treatment

I never thought I’d be saying this so early in my life, but I am 38 (soon to be 39) and I have been diagnosed with cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma to be exact. It is fortunately a highly treatable form of cancer and looks like it’s been caught early.
 
I feel fortunate to live in a time of science and discovery. There is no definitive cause of this. I have zero markers that would have alerted anyone to my diagnosis, other than my persistence over the last 6-7months that something was not right.

 This is about to be a long journey and I hope to keep things positive and light during the treatment and recovery phases. The best doctors on my condition are based in the hospital I will be sent to in Los Angeles. My insurance is good, and it is taking care of a lot of the cost, but my personal finances cannot handle what the recovery looks like. I’m looking into programs, grants, and other options for people in my condition. I am asking for any assistance to help cover my expenses during my recovery. My apartment has already stated they’re sorry about my situation, but they will not take into consideration any illness in paying rent, and they will not make a payment plan with me if it gets to that point. 

 I hope to have your thoughts, prayers, and positive energy. You’ll hear me making a lot of dark jokes over the next few months. Bare with me, as I’m about to be more insufferably funny than I already am.

  I’m excited to write the great American novel during my recovery, or another play.  Please laugh, it’s the only way through. 
  I will be operating my life as normal as possible until it is no longer an option. Any help- or shares I would be grateful for.
