Help Erin Get Bottom Surgery

Hi! My name's Erin, I'm a 27 year old non-binary trans person from the UK!

Like many trans people, I have gender dysphoria. This means I experiencing strong discomfort with certain aspects of my body that I was born with. Having been on hormone replacement therapy for over two years, I've come a long way in addressing many aspects of my dysphoria. However, there's a limit to what HRT can do and some areas require further intervention. One such area is my reproductive organs. On a daily basis genital dysphoria limits the clothes I'm comfortable wearing, the activities I'm comfortable taking part in and my general mental health. Fortunately there exist options to resolve this, I believe a vaginoplasty is the best one for me. Unfortunately, the surgery is prohibitively expensive.

In the UK, transgender people are able to get limited healthcare covered on the NHS. However, the waiting list for this healthcare is dauntingly long. It's estimated that the current queue (which I am near the back of) for my Gender Identity Clinic is estimated to be between five and 10 years long. This is not a typo.

I don't believe that I will be able to live a wholly fulfilling life until I undergo this surgery. The thought of having to put my life on hold until I'm well into my 30s crushes me. This leaves the only other option; getting the surgery privately. There are many surgeons both in the UK and worldwide with whom I could get this done within months of raising the funds. This would improve my quality of life drastically.

Due to not having chosen a surgeon yet, I can't be certain of the exact cost. However, I expect it to be in the range of £15k - £20k. If I reach the full goal, any funds I do not spend I will pay forwards to other trans people raising money for surgery.
