Help Erin in Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Erin, and I have a 30% chance to live longer than the next three months. I am fundraising for myself for a few reasons, but mostly medical bills, especially now that doctors want me to get a transplant.
Mid-Summer 2021 I went into the hospital with severe abdominal pain. From there I began my journey through a myriad of tests, hospital rooms, and my second time having covid, which also gave me pneumonia.
My liver is failing. I am a recovering alcoholic. I have alcoholic hepatitis, anemia, ammonia on my brain, I had my first ever 4 seizures in one night and lots more problems cropping up as I work through this. I even had jaundice so badly that my face and eyes were Crayola yellow. I have had MRIs, CT scans, EEGs, EKGs, loads of blood work including a blood transfusion, and an endoscopy. I'm on about 15 different medications a day, and I go weekly for something called paracentesis which is a really gross and painful procedure to make me more comfortable from a condition that can turn deadly very fast. I'm disabled now and lost a lot of mobility. My mental health has also been severely impacted by this experience.

When I submitted my disability paperwork, my job let me go and I lost about a thousand dollars worth of supplies in my classroom that I bought with my own money. I'm looking for a remote job now, but I've been without income, in a lot of pain, and confronting my own mortality since August. I'm scared and I can't afford to worry about bills as I get on the long, hard road ahead.
I know I did this to myself and I stopped drinking after my first hospital trip on August 6.
I'm open to questions/conversations about this if anyone is interested.
