HELP Erin Roberts' home, school & neighbors post Hurricane
Donation protected
I'm Carrie Manolakos and starting a GoFundMe for my best friend, Erin Roberts & family, their two schools, Mighty Oaks Montessori & The Socratic Space and their surrounding community.
Erin has been my best friend since we were 14, and has an incredible husband Geoff, and 4 kids, one & 1/2 -17 years old. Their property and both of their schools which are in their home and on their property are in complete devastation. She and her husband Geoff built this school with their blood, sweat and tears (literally) and Erin worked 3 jobs with a family to to move to Asheville with here family and a commitment to serve the next generation.
They give everything to help to raise up their community and rarely (if ever accept help.) I cannot say enough about my friend and this family, their kindness, their commitment to education, the immeasurable love in their hearts, their willingness to go above and beyond ALWAYS for the good of those around them. They stayed behind with their 4 incredible kids to help and be there for their neighbors, their community, protect their land and assist so many in need and so many people have asked how they can help.
And it is even worse than we can see - More below! Please consider donating -- the more we raise the more will go directly to restoring the Roberts Family, their property and schools, and to neighbors and the families closest to them.
Please read this message from Carla Delangre --Dear friend and her both of her daughters are at school there. --
"We need our local AND global community right now more than ever! As many of you know Asheville was hit by hurricane Helene hard which wiped out entire neighborhoods, towns and more. So many lives lost and still many more missing people. While we are still in crisis mode, many of us are needing to start cleaning up and rebuild as our livelihood depends on it.
My daughters go to the most amazing school Mighty Oaks Montessori . This school is a cornerstone in our community and unfortunately they have suffered major damage to the classroom and their land.
So many friends and families have asked how they can help, here is one way you can help directly to a very special family.
It’s going to cost thousands of dollars in tree removal, driveway repairs, classroom supplies, building repairs and maintenance etc. This family does not accept help often (if ever) and this is just one way for us to show up for them the way they show up for us everyday, beyond the school week.
This is Erin and Geoff’s livelihood. They built this school/schools with blood, sweat and tears…literally. Erin worked MULTIPLE jobs to pay for the materials used in the classroom and create the space we know and love. It is their heart passion to serve our community and support our children.
Please help however you can, every little bit matters!
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers as we rebuild our home.
