Help Ethan Fight the Bite: Rattlesnake Bite Ease

Our friends and old neighbors, Heather and Zach Vogel, need our help. Their son Ethan was bitten by a rattlesnake while mountain biking on North Table Mountain in Golden, Colorado. The venom from the prairie rattlesnake (~30” in size) was extreme and worked fast, and Ethan's life was in danger. Thankfully, Zach was with him and acted quickly, calling 911 and keeping Ethan calm until the paramedics arrived.

Ethan was rushed to St. Anthony's Hospital in Littleton, where he received antivenin and other medications to stabilize his vitals. He was then transported to Anschutz Children's Hospital of Colorado, where he has received more antivenin and other medical treatments. Ethan has been a fighter, and is home recovering but he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

We are starting this GoFundMe page to help Heather and Zach with the medical expenses for Ethan's treatment. They do have insurance but have a high deductible plan and will most likely have to pay a percentage of the services. The antivenin alone costs thousands of dollars, and they have already incurred many other medical expenses. We want to help ease their financial burden so they can focus on Ethan's recovery.

Heather and Zach are wonderful parents who have always been there for their children and their community. They have always been the first to offer help to others, and now it's our turn to help them.
