Help Ethan Get Up
Donation protected
My name is Greg Lail and I am Ethan Lail's father. Around 2:00 am on Jan 16th, my son Ethan was taken to the ER at Valdese Hospital. That evening he was sent to Chapel Hill to the UNC Neuroscience Hospital where he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves. As a result of this, Ethan has been unable to walk on his own. He is currently at UNC Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, where he is receiving physical and occupational therapy for about 3 hrs a day. He is learning how to get around with the help of a walker. Ethan is due to be released to return home on Feb 15th and will need to have someone with him until he can get around on his own. The doctors and physical therapists say it may be anywhere from 6 months to a year before he can walk again on his own and return to work. However, they are certain he will in time. Unfortunately, Ethan has no health insurance and will be out of work for quite a while. Many have asked about how to help him financially, so I have set up this Gofundme page. All of the money collected will go directly to Ethan to help cover his medical bills. If you can give, we thank you so much. If you cannot give, please keep Ethan in your prayers that God will continue to strengthen his body and meet his every need through friends like you as he recovers.
