Who is Ethan?

Hi, I'm Ethan. I am a 22-year-old trans guy and I have been raising money for top surgery for about a year. I am a college student at TTU studying Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies. I graduate this August and after,  I hope to work for LGBTQ+ youth in Austin Tx, providing them with a safe space as well as resources to help queer individuals live their truth and be happy. I have been part of the queer community for 8 years and helping my community has always been my calling and passion.

 

What is top surgery?

Transmasculine top surgery includes a range of procedures that remove the patient's breasts making their chest appear more masculine. The procedure I will need is a "double incision mastectomy with free nipple grafts". This procedure is extremely low risk and has phenomenal success rates.

 

Why does Ethan need this?

My insurance does not cover gender-affirming health care so I have come here for assistance. I have been living as my true self for over a year and I have come to the point that I am in need of top surgery. Although I have been privileged enough to have access to hormone therapy and gender-affirming clothing such as binders, the binders have caused respiratory problems, bruising, and scarring.
