Help Eugene Forbes Secure a Stable Home

Donation protected
Hello, I am making this fundraiser for my husband, Eugene Forbes. He is disabled and has been a double amputee since 2019 (having his left leg amputated right below the knee and half of his foot on his right side). Recently, in October, he lost his remaining right leg above the knee. I have not been able to work for many years due to his many disabilities, including diabetes, heart disease, peripheral artery disease, and congestive heart failure, and his need to be cared for 24 hours a day. Since 2010, when he had a quintuple bypass open-heart surgery, he has endured literally countless surgeries and procedures. We have existed on his social security disability payment since 2016.

This man was a diesel mechanic by profession and a very hardworking man, providing for me and our one son whom we had together, and his firstborn son, as well as the son and daughter that I brought to the marriage. He was also everyone's favorite backyard automotive mechanic for many years. He often fixed friends' and family's cars for free when someone needed help or when he couldn't resist my pleas for him to help.

I was a single mother before we met and married, so I have always had a heart for women raising kids on their own, and would present lots of opportunities for him to help mothers I knew were in need. I only say this as a way to show his giving nature.
In July 2024 we were evicted and made homeless with our 15-year-old son. Thankfully, our daughter and her fiancé appealed to their landlord, and he has let us stay with them since the end of July. This was only supposed to be for a month or two. However, in this time, I have suffered medical complications in addition to what he has suffered. His right leg died, and he had to have it amputated above his knee. While hospitalized, his liver failed (thank God he was brought through that without a liver transplant), and he had issues with heart failure attacks. Now we have been here for nearly 6 months.

I have found a mobile home that would be perfect for our son, myself, and would be accommodating to Geno's disabilities.

It would be a good high school for our teenager. We need $15,000 to purchase it outright and then would only have lot rent and utilities to pay for monthly living expenses. I could continue to care for my husband, and our son could have a stable home.

If there is anybody that could help in raising the money for us to purchase the home, anything would be appreciated beyond belief! We know times are hard for many people right now, and it is hard to ask for this help, but I cannot let this affordable home slip away without a fight. Thank you, and may God richly bless you for your desire to help.
