Help Eugen's fight against cancer

Hi everyone,
My name is Madalina Ciobanu and I have set up this crowdfunding campaign to raise money for my best friend's father, Eugen Chiritescu. Eugen, who is 46 years old, was diagnosed with rectal cancer in the summer of 2016.
The news has shaken Eugen's family to the core and has drained his strength and energy. The disease was already in an advanced stage when it was discovered (stage III B), so numerous investigations were conducted in Romania, where Eugen and his family live, and abroad, to find the best solution – the only ones who could devise a treatment plan with high chances of success were medical professionals at the Anadolu clinic in Turkey.
The treatment plan the doctors suggested consists of 28 radiotherapy and chemotherapy sessions, followed by a surgical procedure.
The cost for the entire treatment is 40,000 euros, half of which has already been raised by the family and paid to cover the cost of the radiotherapy and chemotherapy sessions, which successfully took place in Turkey between 1 November and 8 December.
However, to be able to go ahead with the operation, we need to raise the remaining 20,000 euros until 2 February, as the surgical intervention is scheduled for 7 February. It is impossible to have the surgery performed unless the money is raised and postponing the intervention would mean risking the cancer to spread to other organs.
Even though the complexity of the treatment and the risks of the surgical procedures are high, the doctors at the Anadolu clinic are confident in the chances of restoring Eugen's health.
I have known Eugen and his family for 8 years. He is a lively and fun person, a loving husband and a dedicated father of two children, aged 23 and 10. I am in awe of my friend, Alexandra , and how she has managed to cope with this devastating news, and the strength she has found to support her family in facing this challenge, especially in trying to keep things as normal as possible for her little brother.
I am aware the amount of money we need seems like a lot, but every contribution, no matter how small, can help Eugen and his family immensely.
