I am writing to you as a friend of Basma, and I want to explain her story to you.

Video of the Story

[Dear Supporters,
We, Basma Hijazy and my parents, write to you with heavy hearts, pleading for urgent assistance for our family trapped in North Gaza. Our hearts are heavy with worry for our loved ones enduring unimaginable hardships back home. Our family's tragedy deepened when we lost our siblings and their families, totaling 14 individuals.

These are the cherished offspring of my siblings who were tragically lost on 13/10: Majd, Malak, Abdulrahman, Yahya, Bilal, Mohammad, Lana, Samira, and Omar. Each one exuded kindness, intellect, eloquence, and a carefree spirit. They all possessed serene lives and cherished modest dreams.

Now, only my parents, myself, and two of my myrtie brother's twin children remain. Our home was also destroyed in the bombings, leaving us displaced and in dire need of assistance. Among our remaining family members are my parents, Omar and Samira, both in their 60s, facing significant health challenges exacerbated by the lack of medical care. My father, a retired teacher, suffers from Parkinson's disease and recently endured a knee fracture, requiring urgent surgery, which has been delayed due to the conflict. My father's health condition adds to our concerns, as his Parkinson's disease has significantly debilitated him. He urgently requires medical attention, including surgery for his knee fracture, but the ongoing conflict has made accessing healthcare nearly impossible. We implore you to extend your support to our family during this desperate time. Your assistance could mean the difference between life and death for our loved ones. We remain hopeful that with your help, we can alleviate their suffering and provide them with the basic necessities they so desperately need.

Thank you for your kindness and compassion during these trying times.]

In order to facilitate Basma's evacuation from Gaza and to Egypt , I'm setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise USD $10,000 Here is the breakdown of the funds:

* A total of USD $7,000 has been allocated to cover the expenses associated with obtaining permits to leave Gaza, as well as crossing fees at Rafah, at the Egypt-Gaza border. This amount breaks down to USD$ 5000- $7000 per person.

* The rest will be used to cover GoFundMe's transaction fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation), and keep the rest whatever it is to Basma to be able to live in Egypt without having to ask anyone one for help.

Every single share and donation makes a difference.

Please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness and support, as well as your willingness to stand with us in solidarity, as together, we can make a difference and help her family find safety and security.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart
