My name is Dima Mostafa, and I am reaching out to you from the heart of the devastating conflict in Gaza. As I sit here amidst the chaos and destruction, I am compelled to share our story in the hopes that you will extend your helping hand to my family in our darkest hour.
For years, our home has been a battleground, subjected to the relentless cycles of violence that have torn apart our community and shattered our sense of safety. In the current wave of conflict, our worst fears have become a horrifying reality. Our once peaceful neighborhood is now a scene of devastation, with our home destroyed and our lives torn apart.
My family and I have lost our home, which is now rubble and dust, the last remaining memory of our dear father, who passed away two years ago. My father spent his lifetime working hard to secure a home for us, which within seconds was turned into carnage. Without being able to return to our home and see it, I asked a friend to go retrieve any of my belongings from under the rubble as a memory and sentiment to my life prior to the genocide. They found the house and everything inside it unidentifiable and unrecognizable.

As a creator and an artist, I have spent the past ten years working relentlessly to achieve my goals and dreams. Everything that I have built has been destroyed by the ongoing war on Gaza. . My brother and I have spent several years building our business, creating art for the community, and teaching the younger generation. Our workshop that was full of memories, successes, challenges, and achievements, is now lost along with our ambitions and dreams. We have since found ourselves learning how to create digital drawings due to the limited resources available to us. Our passion for art is a driving force to keep us going during these difficult times.

Before the 7th of October, we had prepared our 2024 diaries ready to be shipped to our international clients as a welcome to the new year. We worked on a variety of products to support of business, which is our main source of income. Unfortunately, due to ongoing genocide taking place in Gaza, we have not only missed on multiple high-sale seasons for our business, we have also lost all the products that we had purchased and prepared for sale. We are now left without a business and without a means to support ourselves financially.

Since the 7th of October, my family and I have been displaced four times and have resorted to evacuating to Rafah. We are being subjected to ethnic cleansing and to the genocide of my people. We are currently under imminent threat of further displacement, hunger, disease and death.

We are humbly asking you for your support to help us evacuate from Gaza to Egypt in search of safety and security.
The funds we are seeking will hopefully cover the evacuation of myself, along with five other adult members of my family, and four children. The current cost for evacuation have risen to $6,000 per adult and $3,000 per child. The funds will also go towards securing housing, and basic necessities including clothing, food and medical treatment for my mother, until we can stand on our feet once again.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for considering a contribution to our GoFundMe campaign. Your compassion and support mean more to us than words can express, and we will be forever grateful for your kindness in our time of need.
With deepest gratitude,
Dima and Family
